Hughie Fury had pulled out of his May title challenge fight against WBO heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker, but Hughie’s uncle and trainer, Peter Fury, has confirmed that he has now recovered and will fight at the Copper Box in July.
“Hughie has recovered from the back injury that kept him out of his world title fight with Parker and he is itching to get back in the ring next month,” Peter Fury said. “We are treating this fight as a warm-up to the big one later this year. The division is certainly opening up with plenty of opportunities and we are confident that Hughie is going to figure dominantly for years to come.”
Hughie comes off a 7th round technical decision win over journeyman Fred Kassi, in April last year.
Hughie’s opponent for his upcoming fight has yet has yet to be confirmed.
