Anthony Yarde scores impressive first round victory at Copper Box

The greatly favoured challenger, Anthony Yarde, stopped Hungarian Richard Baranyi to win the WBO light-heavyweight title.

A rapidly thrown big right dropped Baranyi and sent him careering into the ropes in the second minute of the first round.

Baranyi bravely got up but was unable to answer Yarde’s vicious combinations with the referee calling time on the contest with 31 seconds to go of the first round.

Yarde looks like one to watch and, with his speed and power,  is reminiscent of a young David Haye.
