The exciting young British heavyweight, Daniel Dubois, made short work of his 14st over-matched opponent, Uruguayan Mauricio Barragan, last night at the Copper Box arena in London.
Dubois clattered Barragan to the ground with his first punch, a big right hand which gave fans a quick insight into the British heavyweight’s nickname ‘Dynamite’.
As the first round progressed further it looked as though the Uruguayan wanted less and less of what the big Brit was offering, as Barragan held both gloves tightly against his face.
Barragan somehow managed to survive the first round but continued to be dominated until the half way mark of the second round when Dubois landed a beautiful bodyshot which left the Urugyuan unable to beat the count.
At only 20, the future looks very promising for Daniel Dubois and the biggest difficulty for his promoters at the moment will be finding him the right opponents.
